Parish Nurse Notes
Diabetes screening will be offered Monday, September 13 to Friday September 17 from 7 A. M. -9 A.M. at both the Trinity VNHA (visiting nurse home association office) in Moline or the lobby of Trinity Bettendorf. This is a finger stick test and 8 hours of fasting is recommended. No appointment is necessary. Angel Parks is the new Nurse Manager of Trinity Pathway Hospice. If you would like her to present information about Hospice to any of your groups, you may contact her at 309-779-7294. School days, school daze! Please pray for our school teachers, students and their parents, school administrators and auxiliary personnel. Buy school supplies on sale and donate to your local school or food pantry for those students who can’t afford the necessary supplies. Parents plan now how you will help your student have a special place for studying, limited TV/electronics, some healthy after school snacks and some time for exercise. Immunizations See your parish nurse if you would like a copy of “When do Children and Tens Need Vaccinations?” and “Vaccinations for Adults” (you are NEVER to old to get immunized!) The book “Saving Legs, Saving Lives” …(Peripheral Vascular Disease Made Simple) is available from your parish nurse for loan to parishioners. PAD (Peripheral Artery Disease) a disease of the blood vessels of the lower extremities is likely to continue to increase in the future with the rise of diabetes and obesity. PAD leads to amputations and is associated with a high risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke. |
